Tahmina Jurayeva, PA, “Bureau on Human Rights and Rule of Law”: “We, human rights defenders, are united by a strong sense of responsibility.”

“I can say that while still being a student I fell in love with the human rights activities. The belief that I can help another person in searching for justice, and that there are legitimate means for protecting and promoting human rights has inspired me. Although advocacy is not a profession, it requires a lot of professional knowledge and skills. I like to acquire such knowledge and skills. I also think that we, human rights defenders, are united by a high sense of responsibility and empathy towards another person. This feeling helps us, despite the associated risks, and the complexity of the work, to go on with enthusiasm, to promote human rights, and to contribute to the development of society.”
