Representatives of Mass Media, UN and even the mother of Hamza Ikromzoda were rejected to be present at the trial over the death of a prisoner, which began on May in the Ismoili Somoni district court

The presiding judge Rustam Mirzayev informed “Ozodagon” that the journalists and UN staff must obtain permission from the Ministry of Justice of Tajikistan, while the Main Directorate for Execution of Punishments under the Ministry of is named as key defendant in the case.

At the same time the judge told the mother of the deceased, her participation is not necessary at the trial “the farther participation is enough”.

Zulaikho Dzhuraeva the mother of Hamza Ikromzoda informed “Ozodagon” that she does not agree with the decision of the judge she would appeal to the higher courts.

The twenty seven years old Ikromzoda Hamza, who two years ago was sentenced to 8 years of imprisonment died on September 20, 2012 in the prison # 1 I Dushanbe. Relatives believe that his death was caused by severe beatings and torture. This issue received wide resonance among the society.
