Sharipov Abdurahmon, Practicing Lawyer: “From Investigator to human rights defender”

I have a law degree. From 1985 to 1997, I have worked in the system of MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS as an investigator. From 1999 I started working as a practicing lawyer at the Bar Office. From 2007 onwards, being a practicing lawyer, I started interacting with human rights defenders in Tajikistan and was engaged in strategic litigation to protect the rights and freedoms of citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan. Since May 2008, I joined the human rights activities.

I was attracted to human rights activism due to the fact that it is an active life, noble work in upholding human rights and freedoms, a great responsibility for the fate of another person, which became a victim of an unjust and cruel treatment.”
